Marisquiño celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025 as the largest Urban Culture and Action Sports event in Southern Europe. A unique festival that brings together four Olympic disciplines among its main activities: Skate (WCS), BMX, Breaking, and 3x3 Basketball (FIBA). Following a 2024 marked by the Paris Olympic Games, O Marisquiño 2025 is set to be the major meeting point for the world's best riders in a spectacular setting.
A free outdoor festival in the middle of August, by the sea, with its epicenter on Samil beach and extending to the center of Vigo with the spectacular urban descent competition. For four days, from August 7 to 10, the event will feature more than ten sports competitions, along with a strong program of art and urban culture: music, graffiti, rap battles, food trucks, and much more.
From its beginnings in 2001 as a small Skate championship in Castro de Vigo, Marisquiño has grown to become an international reference. After taking place at Samil Beach and consolidating for years at the Port of Vigo, the festival returned to Samil in 2023 as its heart. There, with the Cíes Islands as a backdrop, most of the event is held in an unparalleled natural setting. In these 25 years, the festival has gone from gathering 200 friends to bringing together over 150,000 people.
The festival takes place on the second weekend of August, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and entry is free and open to all.
Location
Vigo (Pontevedra). Marisquiño has its nerve center at Samil Beach, the most important beach in the city with the Cíes Islands in the background, a space destined to become a hallmark of the festival for the future. On a surface area of 200,000 square meters, the festival's major events take place, alongside the sea, including Skate, BMX, Break Dance, Flatland, and 3x3 Basketball. Finally, from the Fortress of Castro in the city, the route of the Urban Descent will start as it does every year, one of the most original in the world, with a part in the mountains and another in the urban area. A showcase that transforms Vigo for four days and that in 2025 celebrates a quarter of a century of history, looking to the future with more strength than ever.
