O Marisquiño adds the Iberian DMC Final, the DJs' World Championship qualifier
Marisquiño’s urban culture keeps growing. In 2026, the Vigo festival will include for the first time in its programme the Iberian DMC final, the most prestigious and influential competition in the world for DJs and turntablists.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 9 on Samil Beach and will bring together some of the best DJs from Spain and Portugal in Vigo for a day dedicated to the art of turntables, scratching and musical creativity.
The arrival of DMC Iberia reinforces Marisquiño’s commitment to all expressions of urban culture. If skateboarding, BMX or freestyle rap have been part of the festival’s DNA for years, it now also adds a historic discipline within hip hop culture: turntablism, understood as the use of turntables and the mixing desk as musical instruments.
Three categories and a ticket to London
The activity will start in the morning with workshops and technical demonstrations open to the public. From midday onward, the finals of the different categories will take place, and the day will conclude with the awards ceremony and special showcases by guest DJs.
The competition will feature three modes: Scratch, focused exclusively on turntable technique; Classic, where participants will have six minutes to present a complete routine; and Open, a freer category in which each finalist may develop a personal set of up to twelve minutes.
The winners of each category will earn the right to represent the Iberian Peninsula at the DMC World DJ Championships 2026, whose world final will be held next November in London.

DJs interested in taking part may register from June 9 to July 1. If the maximum number of available places is exceeded, the organization will hold a pre-selection round via video to determine the finalists who will compete in Vigo. More information and registration.
Confirmed Artists
The Iberian final of DMC at Marisquiño will feature a top-tier international jury, made up of artists who represent the highest level of turntablism and DJ competitions worldwide. Among them is DJ Stereossauro (Portugal), one of the most recognized names on the European scene, 4-time world DJ champion, winner of the DMC Open World 2024 and the Online format, as well as 2-time IDA world team champion with Beatbombers (2011 and 2016). The jury will also include DJ Pimp (Spain), 4-time DMC Spain champion, Top 5 finalist at the DMC World Championship and 3-time Red Bull Party Rocker champion, as well as the official DJ for artists such as Bejo, Don Patricio and Locoplaya, with a solid track record in the urban and competition scenes. Completing the panel is DJ ND (Belgium), international DJ and producer, multiple DMC champion, instructor at the Tomorrowland Academy and responsible for Artist & Culture Relations at Ortofon, bringing a technical and educational perspective to the jury.
The final will also have the support of leading brands in the sector such as Technics, Ortofon, Magma DJ Bags and Decksaver, which will contribute prizes and support the launch of DMC Iberia, reinforcing the commitment to the development of DJ culture and turntablism.
