#OMTOPSHOTS 2025: Josito Gómez

Josito Gómez joined the Media team of Marisquiño in 2024. He took some brutal photos and had a great time, so obviously he returned in 2025. Although he was focused on what he loves most, which is biking (MTB Downtown, Big Jump, BMX...), he also captured great photos in skate, breaking, and portraits that are perfect for a profile picture. This is his photo selection #OM25.

As you know, photos capture a very brief moment of what happens in Vigo. But there are usually stories behind them. And Josito has told us a couple. The first is that he really likes the photo of Sara Ayuso, winner for the third time of the MTB Downtown at Marisquiño: "I think it conveys to the public the intensity contained through the gaze, in moments when the mind needs to align with the challenge."

The other "might be the most beautiful and tender moment I've experienced in this edition," he tells us. And he adds: "It's not the most spectacular photo, nor the best trick, but it has a story." And this story is about the boy tackling the last obstacles of the new Mini DH held at the Centro de Ocio A Laxe. Right behind, you can see his father, who accompanied him throughout the descent.

"While reviewing the sequence of photos, I found it amusing to see the boy's helmet bouncing on his head," Josito tells us. "I showed it to the father, and he told me, laughing, that there aren't any sizes that small for helmets. And with a face of absolute happiness, he expressed to me the excitement of a child wanting to compete in an event like Marisquiño and feeling like the main character for a few moments," he adds.
