Las batallas de freestyle toman Samil: última hora y novedades

The freestyle battles return to O Marisquiño in style to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the festival with a unique proposal in Galicia and Spain. In collaboration with Gallos del Norte, the leading platform in freestyle in the northwest, this edition features three consecutive days of competition, each with a different format, to take improvisation to new heights from the beach of Samil. It aims to highlight young talent, diversity, team formats, and the warriors who aspire to be crowned the new kings of the north.

FREESTYLE PEOPLE DAY

This year’s major innovation arrives on Friday, August 8 with the Freestyle People Day, the first inclusive freestyle event in history. A revolutionary day in which artists with and without functional diversity will come together on the same stage to rhyme together, sharing flow, respect, and new forms of expression. There will be battles, music performances, dance, percussion, and a talk on inclusion in urban culture, all organized in collaboration with the Poten100mos association and the Freestyle People collective.

BLOOD TO THE FAIR

On Saturday the 9th, it will be the turn of the wildest tournament: Blood to the Fair, the 3vs3 territorial championship that has become a tradition in Marisquiño. Teams from all over Galicia —and some invited from outside— will compete with sharp rhymes, local identity, and collective passion. The event will include showcases by Santiisfyre, Galeghetto, and Calles.209, along with a prestigious jury that will decide which area takes home the crown this year.

THE THRONE OF THE NORTH

And as a finale, on Sunday the 10th comes The Throne of the North, an individual competition featuring the strongest names in Galician and national freestyle, a list of selected talents that will be completed that same day with the winners of the open heats. Who will take home the €1000 prize and sit at the top? With a top-notch jury and a heart-stopping musical show (Was, Iban TLR, and Calles.209), the closing of freestyle at OM25 promises to be historic.
